About The Position

We are hiring immediately for a full time BAKER position at UAB St. Vincents Hospital. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 5:00 am - 1:00 pm. The position involves preparing baked goods according to recipes and production specifications, ensuring proper food preparation, maintaining sanitation, and interacting with customers in a friendly manner.

Requirements

• Must have at least 2 years of consistent Baker experience.

Responsibilities

• Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets.
• Assist in production planning to meet daily requirements.
• Ensure proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes and following prescribed production standards.
• Assist with the completion of production records including waste tracking and product shortages.
• Ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area.
• Handle food items appropriately and with all safety regulations in mind during preparation and service.
• Clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area.
• Interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
• Exhibit the ability to keep up with peak production and service calmly and efficiently.
• Check to ensure that all food is presented, served and displayed per standards.
• Follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
• Complete shift work in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
