About The Position

We are hiring immediately for a full time BAKER position at the University Of Alaska Fairbanks. The position involves preparing baked goods according to recipes and production specifications. The schedule is flexible, with days and hours that may vary, including Sundays and early mornings. The pay range for this position is $22.00 to $25.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Previous baking, cooking, and high-volume food service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets.
• Assist in production planning to meet daily requirements.
• Ensure proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes and following prescribed production standards.
• Complete production records including waste tracking and product shortages.
• Ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area.
• Handle food items appropriately and with all safety regulations in mind during preparation and service.
• Clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area.
• Interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
• Exhibit the ability to keep up with peak production and service calmly and efficiently.
• Check to ensure that all food is presented, served and displayed per standards.
• Follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
• Complete shift work in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
