About The Position

Bon Appétit is hiring immediately for a full-time BAKER position at Biola University. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm. The position involves preparing baked goods according to recipes and production specifications, ensuring proper food preparation, and maintaining sanitation and orderliness in the work area. The role also includes interacting with customers and resolving complaints in a friendly manner.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of high volume baking experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets.
• Assist in production planning to meet daily requirements.
• Ensure proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes and following prescribed production standards.
• Complete production records including waste tracking and product shortages.
• Maintain proper presentation, food quality, portion control, and serving temperatures.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils within the work area.
• Handle food items appropriately and follow safety regulations during preparation and service.
• Clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris.
• Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a customer-service oriented manner.
• Relay relevant concerns from customers directly to supervisors.
• Exhibit the ability to keep up with peak production and service calmly and efficiently.
• Check to ensure that all food is presented, served, and displayed per standards.
• Follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
• Complete shift work in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
