About The Position

We are hiring immediately for full time BAKER positions at the University of Maryland - Baltimore County. The position involves preparing baked goods according to recipes and production specifications. The schedule is full time, Monday - Friday, from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm. The pay rate is fixed at $17.56 per hour. Prior experience is preferred, but willing to train. The job summary includes baking various items, ensuring proper food preparation, maintaining sanitation, and interacting with customers.

Requirements

• Prior experience in baking is preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and production specifications.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets.
• Assist in production planning to meet daily requirements.
• Ensure proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes and following prescribed production standards.
• Assist with the completion of production records including waste tracking and product shortages.
• Ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area.
• Handle food items appropriately and with all safety regulations in mind during preparation and service.
• Clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments.
• Interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
• Exhibit the ability to keep up with peak production and service calmly and efficiently.
• Check to ensure that all food is presented, served and displayed per standards.
• Follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
• Complete shift work in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
