About The Position

The Bait & Tackle Crew is front-line staff for the overall guest experience of Lake Gregory. They are responsible for the day to day Bait & Tackle shop operations, rentals, and cleaning and maintaining public spaces, all with a focus on excellent customer service and hospitality.

Requirements

High school diploma preferred
General knowledge of fishing and CA fishing regulations
Excellent character as demonstrated by work values
Current CPR and First Aid certifications
Agreement with Lake Gregory mission-vision-values
Compliance with employee handbook
Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds & walk and carry over uneven terrain
Ability to work in inclement weather including heat, rain, snow, and ice
Abilities sufficient to carry out the essential functions of the job
Attention to detail.
Ability to organize and maintain a clean work area.
Ability to follow instructions, learn new skills, and accept guidance/supervision.
Ability to work alone and with others in a timely manner.
Excellent attitude with guests and co-workers.

Responsibilities

Rent and maintain equipment such as kayaks, row boats, and fishing poles.
Maintain general cleanliness of the Bait & Tackle restrooms, dock, shop, & vessels.
Use the cash register and follow all cash handling procedures accurately.
Greet and assist guests, answering questions about the park, fishing, rules and regulations, and the greater Crestline area.
Recommend and sell bait, tackle, other fishing equipment, and various snacks and other merchandise.
Maintain and perform minor repairs on fishing equipment and vessels.
Assists with ordering bait and tackle supplies and communicates with vendors as needed.
Safe operation of various minor equipment and tools.
Groundskeeping inside and outside of Bait & Tackle shop.
Assist guests with fishing equipment and techniques.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
