There are two fixed furlough days for all limited (temporary positions with an end date) and unlimited (permanent) employees on August 29th, the Friday before Labor Day, and November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Details will be discussed during the offer process for selected candidate(s). Location & Schedule This position will report in - person to our Airport Office Building located at Denver International Airport. The schedule and shifts may vary to ensure coverage 7 days a week. We are currently seeking a Baggage Handling Systems Administrator to join our Technical Operations Team!

Requirements

  • Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field based on specific position.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years professional experience in operations and maintenance of electromechanical systems, baggage handling systems, logistics infrastructure, and/or conveyances.
  • Education and Experience Equivalency: One (1) years of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
  • License/Certification Requirement: By position, requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
  • FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment.
  • By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.
  • Snow / Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts

Nice To Haves

  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of baggage handling systems, distribution center operations, or other complex technical equipment.
  • Contract Knowledge: Familiarity with airport-specific contracts, especially those governing baggage handling systems.
  • Analytical Thinking: Proficiency in analyzing data, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to coordinate with diverse stakeholders including management, contractors, airlines, and maintenance teams.
  • Organizational Ability: Capable of multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and ensuring system integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Oversight: Conduct regular system inspections to identify irregularities or wear and tear. Coordinate timely maintenance and repairs with BHS contractors and stakeholders. Plan and manage system upgrades to enhance performance and integrate new technologies.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the central point of contact for BHS-related inquiries. Facilitate communication among airport departments, airlines, TSA, and other service providers during normal and contingency operations. Lead both planned and ad-hoc meetings with contractors and stakeholders. Provide system tours as needed.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure daily operations align with contractual obligations and quality standards. Partner with BHS contractors to drive continuous improvement. Conduct audits on maintenance activities, reports, parts usage, and inventory through computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) or equivalent tools.
  • System Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) as defined in contracts. Identify performance trends and use data insights to guide strategic decisions. Ensure contractor accountability and optimal system performance.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, interpret, and analyze operational data to produce reports and presentations for leadership. Highlight KPIs and system efficiency. Assist in budget creation and tracking, invoice approvals, parts expenditure monitoring, and contractor staffing analysis.
