The Baggage Handler position at Alaska Railroad is a part-time, seasonal role focused on providing customer service and handling baggage at the Passenger Depot.   • Resolve issues related to lost or damaged baggage and document unresolved problems.
  • Document train departure and arrival times in a computer database.
  • Communicate with other depots regarding baggage and train information.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six months of verifiable front-line customer service experience.
  • Ability to perform general maintenance, janitorial, and landscaping duties.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull bags varying from 40-100 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate vehicles such as sedans and pickups.
  • Previous experience operating a forklift.
  • Hourly wage of $27.53
  • Part-time hours under 40 hours per week
