Requirements

  • Reading and writing skills corresponding to the level of High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 years previous experience as a Bag Machine Helper I.
  • Ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders.
  • Ability to distinguish between color matches through visual inspection.
  • Ability to perform calculations involving decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to read a ruler.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Customer oriented.
  • Motivated and collaborative within a team environment.
  • Good work ethic, attendance, and punctuality.

Responsibilities

  • Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable PPE and Food Safety policies and procedures, wear steel tipped shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Ensure proper job segregation to the appropriate order.
  • Gather, organize, and layout tools, supplies, and equipment.
  • Prepare and label boxes.
  • Stage, load, and thread material onto the equipment.
  • Prepare and install machine tooling (Teflon, rubber, etc.)
  • Feed and replenish auxiliary supplies such as hangers, zippers, etc.
  • Monitor quality (dimension, cut position, seals, perforation, zipper, glue, etc.)
  • Prepare documentation as required.
  • Perform minor machine and tooling adjustments.
  • Perform QA tests, pack, label and transport bags as assigned.
