About The Position

SAIC is hiring a motivated, career and customer-oriented Backup Recovery Engineer with at least 4-years of Commvault experience to join our team in Arlington, VA, supporting the DISA-JSP customer. This position is 100% onsite. The Backup Recovery Engineer is a critical role responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-level backup and recovery solutions within a highly regulated environment (Federal/DoD). This individual will play a key part in ensuring data availability, business continuity, and compliance with stringent security and policy requirements. They will work closely with system engineers and other stakeholders to translate business needs into robust and scalable backup and recovery strategies. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in enterprise backup/recovery systems (specifically CommVault Simpana and/or IBM Spectrum Protect) and a proven track record of successfully deploying and managing these systems in complex, large-scale environments with stringent regulatory compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and nine (9) years of experience; or Master's Degree and seven (7) years of experience.
• Top Secret clearance required to start; ability to obtain TS/SCI required.
• US citizenship.
• Experience in implementing solution designs compliant with Federal and DoD policies.
• Experience in implementing software and hardware solutions.
• Experience in Backup/Recovery provisioning and scheduling.
• Experience in estimating and sizing implementation efforts for Backup/Recovery systems.
• Demonstrated ability to build, deploy, and maintain enterprise-level Backup/Recovery systems.
• Experience with CommVault Simpana and IBM Spectrum Protect.
• DoD 8570.01-M/DoD 8140 Certification IAW established mandate prior to start of work - IAT Level II required.

Nice To Haves

• Active DoD 8140 IAT Level III certification.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise-level backup and recovery solutions.
• Ensure data availability, business continuity, and compliance with security and policy requirements.
• Work closely with system engineers and stakeholders to develop backup and recovery strategies.
• Implement solution designs and operating environments compliant with Federal and DoD guidance.
• Provision and schedule Backup/Recovery systems.
• Establish information systems requirements and develop enterprise-wide information systems design.
• Estimate and size implementation efforts for Backup/Recovery systems.
• Build, deploy, and maintain enterprise-level Backup/Recovery systems for COOP environments.
