About The Position

We are looking for a passionate, caring, and FUN Backup - Fairfax Future Artist Instructor to lead an engaging art program for youth. This role is ideal for someone passionate about inspiring young artists, guiding hands-on projects, and creating a positive, encouraging classroom environment.
We need a back-up Instructors for this program. Make sure you look at the location, dates, and times and you available for the whole program. Interview process is easy and fun.

Requirements

• Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, camps, childcare, or similar).
• Ability to lead a group, communicate clearly, and engage young learners.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to manage a structured classroom.
• Positive, encouraging attitude with a passion for helping children develop confidence through art.
• Art: 3 years (Required)
• Teaching: 1 year (Required)

Nice To Haves

• Background in art, design, or creative instruction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver weekly art lessons suitable for children ages 5–9.
• Introduce students to basic techniques in drawing, painting, mixed media, and creative expression.
• Prepare materials and set up the classroom prior to each session.
• Provide step-by-step instruction while allowing freedom for individual creativity.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants.
• Encourage students, offer constructive feedback, and support their artistic growth.
• Communicate as needed with site staff regarding supplies, attendance, or class updates.
• Manage cleanup and ensure materials are stored properly after class.
