About The Position

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) helps individuals overcome addiction and rebuild their lives through faith-based recovery. Every donation, sale, and interaction supports that mission. As a Backroom Attendant, you’ll play a vital role in creating a welcoming, efficient donation experience that keeps our mission thriving.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or currently pursuing).
  • Friendly, dependable, and customer-service oriented.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Able to follow instructions and problem-solve in a team environment.
  • Must be able to regularly lift 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Willing to work in variable temperatures and outdoor conditions as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Greet donors warmly and assist with unloading donations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe donation area.
  • Provide donation receipts and ensure email addresses are collected.
  • Sort, load, and unload trucks in compliance with center policy.
  • Courteously inform donors of items we cannot accept and suggest pickup services for large items.
  • Power sort donations (where applicable) and support the production process.
  • Report any accidents, complaints, or property damage promptly.
  • Represent The Salvation Army with professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Be available for flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, Saturdays, and some holidays.
