About The Position

This position is for a Backroom Associate at Sam's Club, responsible for maintaining and processing shipments, organizing the receiving area, and managing claims for damaged or liquidation merchandise. The role involves ensuring the safety of the facility by adhering to all safety standards, procedures, and guidelines, including proper forklift operation and hazardous material handling. Associates are expected to comply with company policies, standards of ethics and integrity, and complete work assignments by collaborating with managers, coworkers, and customers. Requirements

  • Forklift Certification OR will obtain a Forklift Certification within 30 days of job entry date.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and processes shipments for the Club in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Develops and posts delivery schedules.
  • Compiles and organizes receiving reports.
  • Verifies merchandise counts.
  • Routes merchandise to proper locations.
  • Pays expenses.
  • Receives merchandise for the Facility.
  • Organizes and maintains the Receiving area.
  • Utilizes equipment appropriately.
  • Merchandises and completes required documentation.
  • Tracks and processes claims by returning damaged goods.
  • Handles liquidation merchandise.
  • Maintains and cleans the clearance area.
  • Utilizes technology to capture required reporting and documentation.
  • Maintains safety of facility by following all safety standards procedures and guidelines.
  • Conducts safety sweeps.
  • Follows proper forklift spotting procedures.
  • Follows proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials.
  • Follows company steel standard guidelines.
  • Corrects and/or reports unsafe situations to facility management.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Implements related action plans using the Open Door Policy.
  • Applies company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity in executing business processes and practices.
  • Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources.
  • Collaborates with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners.
  • Identifies priorities, deadlines, and expectations.
  • Carries out tasks.
  • Communicates progress and information.
  • Determines and recommends ways to address improvement opportunities.
  • Adapts to and learns from change, difficulties, and feedback.
