About The Position

At TJX Companies, which includes HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Homesense, Sierra, Winners, and TK Maxx, the Backroom Associate role offers opportunities for growth and achievement within a diverse and collaborative team. TJX is a Fortune 100 company and the world’s leading off-price retailer. This position is responsible for ensuring a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging with customers, upholding customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The associate must adhere to all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards. They may be cross-trained to work in various areas of the store to support business needs. The role involves embodying a positive store culture, accurately processing purchases and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, maintaining merchandising standards, preparing merchandise for the sales floor, participating in store recovery, and upholding cleanliness. Associates are expected to provide and accept feedback, adhere to labor laws and policies, support shrink reduction goals, and maintain a safe environment. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering a highly satisfied customer experience proven by engaging and interacting with all customers, embodying customer experience principles and philosophy, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
  • Adhering to all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.
  • May be cross-trained to work in multiple areas of the store in order to support the needs of the business.
  • Role modeling established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
  • Supporting and embodying a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
  • Accurately ringing customer purchases/returns and counting change back to customer according to established operating procedures.
  • Promoting credit and loyalty programs.
  • Maintaining and upholding merchandising philosophy and following established merchandising procedures and standards.
  • Accurately processing and preparing merchandise for the sales floor following company procedures and standards.
  • Initiating and participating in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
  • Maintaining all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and participating in the maintenance/cleanliness of the entire store.
  • Providing and accepting recognition and constructive feedback.
  • Adhering to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
  • Participating in safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
