The position involves operating various types of heavy equipment, including backhoes, track hoes, scrapers, dozers, excavators, loaders, rock trucks, compactors, articulated trucks, crushers, and motor graders, with or without GPS. The operator is responsible for preparing job sites to meet required grades, connecting hydraulic hoses, and using shovels to dig trenches and holes. The role requires maneuvering equipment to clear right-of-way and constructing or grading new roadways, base courses, building pads, footing excavations, and water ponds. The operator must maintain production goals while ensuring safety and efficiency in a high-paced environment. General upkeep of equipment is also part of the responsibilities, along with performing laborer work as required and other duties as assigned.
