About The Position

We’re hiring a Backend Node.js Developer with 3+ years of AWS serverless experience. You will design, build, and maintain secure, scalable backends using Node.js, TypeScript, AWS Lambda, Cognito, and AWS SAM to power healthcare applications.

Requirements

• 3+ years building backends on AWS serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch)
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with AWS Cognito (User Pools, JWT, OAuth/OIDC)
• Expertise with AWS SAM (or CDK/Serverless Framework) for deployments
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL schemas
• Familiarity with databases such as DynamoDB (or RDS/Postgres)
• Solid understanding of testing (unit/integration), version control (Git), and CI/CD

Nice To Haves

• Experience with healthcare/EMR/EHR, FHIR/HL7, HIPAA-aware design
• Observability tools (X-Ray, CloudWatch Alarms, CloudTrail) and IaC pipelines
• Event-driven patterns (SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Step Functions)
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field
• U.S.-based and able to overlap with U.S. Central Time (CT) hours

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain serverless backend services with Node.js and TypeScript
• Design and implement AWS Lambda functions and API layers (REST/GraphQL)
• Integrate AWS Cognito for authentication/authorization and session management
• Use AWS SAM for infrastructure-as-code, packaging, and deployments
• Collaborate with frontend teams to deliver clean, well-documented APIs
• Optimize performance, reliability, and cost (cold starts, concurrency, IaC)
• Implement security best practices (least privilege IAM, encryption, logging)
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues (CloudWatch, X-Ray)
