About The Position

At Weave, our mission is to evolve how therapeutic knowledge is captured, transformed, and communicated throughout drug development. We do this by equipping human experts with AI instruments to enable drugs to be brought to patients as rapidly, safely, and inexpensively as possible. The Weave Platform streamlines regulatory workflows from start to finish by intelligently, creatively, and effectively infusing every step with AI. Together with our customers, Weave is designing and building the AI workbench for the entire therapeutic lifecycle. We’re looking for a Backend Team Lead that can manage and lead our Backend Engineering team. We expect you to lead the people, maintain a healthy working environment, plan long-term architecture initiatives, keep a high-bar of excellence on the team, and grow the team. The buck stops with you on decisions regarding backend architecture, infrastructure, security, reliability and personnel. You will be responsible for driving architectural direction and roadmap execution, as well as supporting the technical and personal development of the other engineers on the team. Managers at Weave are expected to maintain hands-on capacity. Whether this is through bug fixes, pull request reviews, or healthy debate of technical decisions. We believe that managers must stay technical while staying out of the way of their engineers. Effective decision making requires technical know-how and trust from other engineers. You are the engineer that other engineers can count on; you are technical, you attack every problem with enthusiasm, and you remove hurdles.
