About The Position

Docusign is seeking an exceptional Software Engineering Intern to join our AI team in Seattle, where you'll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI/ML innovations. In this role, you'll design and implement AI solutions using state-of-the-art language models, while conducting experiments to explore different model architectures. You'll also research and integrate the latest advancements in AI/ML, optimize large-scale data processing, and enhance AI processing pipelines or AI infrastructure for efficiency and scalability. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Principal Engineer.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, JavaScript, TypeScript
• Experience with backend development using Node.js, C#, Java, or similar OOP languages
• Interest in working with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and designing efficient, scalable data models
• Experience with API development (REST, GraphQL) and best practices in error handling, logging, and monitoring
• Experience using Git for version control

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply distributed systems concepts in a real-world environment
• Assist in developing backend services using Node.js, C#, Java, or similar languages
• Collaborate with mentors to build and improve API endpoints (REST or GraphQL)
• Gain hands-on experience working with databases (SQL and NoSQL)
• Help implement logging, monitoring, and error handling in production systems
• Participate in code reviews to receive feedback and improve coding skills
• Shadow experienced engineers during debugging and troubleshooting sessions
• Document your work and contribute to technical documentation
• Complete a focused project that demonstrates distributed systems principles
• Join an agile development team for daily standups and planning
• Receive regular mentorship from experienced engineers
• Present your internship project to the engineering team
• Collaborate with other interns on shared learning experiences

• Wage Transparency: $31.00/hour - $38.00/hour for Washington, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area)
