About The Position

As a Backend Engineer on the Customer Experience Platform team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and scaling backend systems that power customer support operations for a rapidly growing online marketplace. You will develop and maintain infrastructure that efficiently handles high volumes of technical, purchasing, and logistics issues, while implementing AI-driven automation tools to streamline issue resolution. This role offers the chance to lead end-to-end projects, improve system performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful features. You will operate in a fast-paced environment that values technical excellence, creative problem-solving, and proactive leadership, all while contributing to an enhanced user experience. Requirements

  • 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience, preferably in high-growth startups.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience building end-to-end product experiences and scaling backend systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and experience with relational databases (Postgres preferred).
  • Experience with Elixir or other backend technologies is a plus.
  • Ownership mindset with a track record of managing projects from inception to deployment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities to guide team members and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-based automation tools and integrating them into backend systems is advantageous.
