About The Position

Our client is a fast-growing, venture-backed technology startup building the next generation of software for connected and electric vehicle fleets. As commercial fleets rapidly transition to electric vehicles, operators face a major gap in software infrastructure needed to manage charging, maintenance, logistics, and operational efficiency. Their software helps operators manage vehicles more efficiently, reduce costs, and make better operational decisions in real time. Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in backend engineering (including internships, research projects, or strong personal projects)
• Strong programming foundation in Go, Python, or similar backend languages
• Experience working with databases and backend infrastructure
• Familiarity with TypeScript and React or willingness to contribute across the stack when needed
• Strong computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and system design basics
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a small, fast-moving engineering team
• Excited to work in a startup environment with high ownership and rapid iteration

Nice To Haves

• Internship or professional experience at highly technical companies or engineering organizations
• Experience working in a startup environment
• Exposure to distributed systems, APIs, or production backend services
• Familiarity with modern developer tools such as AI coding assistants (e.g., Copilot or similar tools)
• Interest in electric vehicles, transportation technology, or sustainability

Responsibilities

• Build backend services and features that support fleet management workflows and connected vehicle integrations
• Collaborate with senior engineers on system design, scalability, and reliability challenges
• Work with databases and infrastructure to support high-performance data pipelines and operational systems
• Partner cross-functionally with product, design, and customer-facing teams to translate real user needs into backend solutions
• Own the deployment, monitoring, and reliability of the features you ship
• Contribute across the engineering stack when needed, including occasional UI work with product engineers
• Help shape early technical architecture in a fast-moving startup environment
