As a Backend Engineer for the Data Platform, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining high-performance data pipelines and back-end systems that process massive volumes of events daily. You will work in a highly collaborative environment, partnering with product managers, frontend engineers, and UX teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions for analytics, experimentation, and business intelligence. The role offers hands-on development with cutting-edge technologies across AWS, streaming platforms, and modern databases. You will be responsible for ensuring data integrity, optimizing pipeline performance, and maintaining system observability. This position provides a unique opportunity to shape the platform architecture while contributing directly to the efficiency and impact of key product lines.

  • Build, maintain, and expand batch and streaming data pipelines supporting analytics, experimentation, and product insights.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and UX teams to deliver data-driven features.
  • Monitor and optimize database and pipeline performance to ensure high scalability and reliability.
  • Develop unit, integration, and load tests to maintain code quality and system integrity.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve engineering standards.
  • Write and review technical proposals, and contribute to improving processes, tooling, and best practices.
  • Support production systems, including on-call rotation and troubleshooting.
  • 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience building data pipelines or data warehouse solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with data processing technologies such as Kinesis, Airflow, Spark, Lambda, Flink, or Athena.
  • Familiarity with databases such as Clickhouse, Postgres, Elasticsearch, Timestream, or Snowflake.
  • Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, distributed systems, concurrency, and threading.
  • Experience working in collaborative, communicative environments and Agile frameworks.
  • Strong commitment to writing maintainable code, testing, and engineering best practices.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and observability tools like Datadog.
