In a recent article, it states that 45 of the top 50 banks, 4 of the top 5 airlines, 7 of the top 10 global retailers and 67 of the Fortune 100 companies leverage the mainframe as their core platform. You'll have the opportunity to work on the z/OS operating system of the IBM Mainframe as it addresses its longevity through a focus on modernization. Your main duties will include designing and implementing new features, optimizing, and maintaining existing code, and ensuring the software meets high-quality standards through testing and debugging. You will also work closely with other developers, designers, and testers to ensure the software meets client needs and is high quality. Additional responsibilities may include occasionally getting involved in customers cases where a problem may need to be recreated, ensuring your code meets IBM's Security and Privacy by Design tenets, and performing code reviews for peers.

  • Participate in many aspects of the software development lifecycle, such as design, code implementation, testing, and support.
  • Create software that is of high quality and meets our clients' needs.
  • Work on a platform that has been around for decades that runs much of the world's businesses and governments.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Demonstrated experience independently developing software as well as providing testing and support to software applications.
  • Demonstrated experience with Object Oriented Programming.
  • Experience in C/C++, Python, Java, and REST APIs.
  • Excellent communication skills, team collaboration and critical thinking.
