About The Position

A Back Office Tech provides basic care to patients in the office setting. The tech will work under the supervision of a licensed nurse or a Certified Medical Assistant. The tech will follow care instructions provided by the licensed individual.

Responsibilities

• Measure vital signs like height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, respirations, and heart rate
• Have the patient prepped and ready in the exam room
• Document current medications, medical or surgical history and primary care physician information for nurse to have during the noting process
• Listen to patient regarding any health concerns they might have and report details to a Registered Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant
• Clean rooms between patients
• Collect urine samples
• Assist with set up for sterile procedures
• Package dirty surgical utensils used in procedures to be cleaned
• Prepare a patient for an EKG test
• Stock supplies in supply room and patient exam rooms
• Help answer the call light if provider needs assistance
• Review and prepare paperwork needing a Medical Doctors approval and signature
• Review mail
• Transport patients as needed
