About The Position

Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) is hiring a Back Office Clinic Assistant to join their Milwaukie Health Center team. This role offers the opportunity to build real clinical skills, gain hands-on experience, and start a path in healthcare. The work supports access to essential sexual and reproductive health care, ensuring every patient is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. In this role, the assistant will be part of the clinical team, supporting patients throughout their visit to create a safe, respectful, and efficient experience from start to finish, playing an essential role in delivering high-quality care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service or high-volume environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patients and coworkers
  • Comfort working both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a medical setting or working directly with patients
  • Mandarin language skills
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)
  • Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or CNA certification

Responsibilities

  • Room patients, take vital signs, and prepare them for their visit
  • Support providers during exams and procedures
  • Assist with lab work, including specimen collection and processing
  • Clean, stock, and prepare exam rooms and instruments
  • Answer patient questions and help them feel informed and at ease
  • Work closely with your team to keep the clinic running smoothly
