About The Position

The Back of House Manager at Kuebler Gateway is responsible for overseeing all aspects of back of the house operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating. This role ensures adherence to Chick-fil-A's food quality and safety standards while managing inventory, scheduling, and team leadership. The manager will also conduct quality control inspections, maintain kitchen equipment, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations. The position requires effective communication with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a kitchen management or leadership role, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of back of the house operations, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety procedures.
  • Proficiency in managing inventory, placing orders, and controlling costs.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with restaurant management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of back of the house operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
  • Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage stock rotation to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage while managing labor costs.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure food quality, presentation, and portioning meet Chick-fil-A's standards.
  • Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Lead and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Monitor food and labor costs to meet budgetary goals.
  • Collaborate with the BOH team and Back of the House Director to deploy new menu items and seasonal specials.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, other managers, and departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to food inventory, wastage, labor hours, and any operational issues.
  • Provide guidance and support to back of the house shift managers.
  • Assist in ordering food and supplies from vendors, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
