About The Position

The Back-End Warehouse Associate II performs advanced warehouse operations with minimal supervision and serves as a subject-matter resource for packing, staging, and outbound shipment activities. This role is responsible for ensuring high levels of accuracy, safety, and compliance while supporting workflow coordination, training newer associates, and resolving operational issues. The Associate II may lead small tasks or work areas, support continuous improvement efforts, and ensure regulatory and customer requirements are consistently met.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of warehouse experience in packing, crating, staging, shipping, and material handling operations.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, reading tape measures, and performing basic material preparation tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience operating pallet jacks and forklifts; must maintain forklift certification for equipment up to 12k.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex work orders, packing instructions, and shipping documentation.
  • Strong experience performing accurate measuring, counting, labeling, and verification of materials and freight.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control practices, including FIFO sequencing and cycle counting.
  • Proficient computer skills for data entry and internal communication; experience using C2C required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations as needed to support operational requirements.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain required regulatory training, including IATA, IMDG, and 49 CFR, with a minimum passing score of 90%.

Responsibilities

  • Independently organize, pack, stage, and prepare freight for outbound shipment while ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a resource to Account Coordinators and warehouse staff regarding order status, packing requirements, and shipment readiness.
  • Verify complex orders, documentation, and packing specifications to prevent shipment errors or delays.
  • Perform advanced packing techniques for oversized, fragile, or specialized freight requiring blocking, bracing, or custom handling.
  • Safely operate pallet jacks and forklifts (up to 12,000 lbs) to support material movement and staging with minimal supervision.
  • Coordinate workflow within assigned areas to support daily shipping priorities and deadlines.
  • Perform cycle counts, assist with inventory adjustments, and support inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Train and support new or less experienced warehouse associates on packing, staging, safety, and quality standards.
  • Perform quality audits and provide feedback to ensure packing integrity, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Proactively identify operational inefficiencies, safety risks, or quality concerns and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in and support continuous improvement, safety, and quality initiatives.
  • Assist supervisors with special projects, audits, or operational tasks as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.
