Awardco is looking for a Back-End Software Engineer to join our Product team in Lindon, Utah. This is a great opportunity to begin or continue your career by building the robust back-end systems that power our global employee recognition and rewards platform. You'll work on a collaborative team to design and implement new features, maintain existing ones, and learn modern software development best practices. We're seeking a motivated individual with a strong foundation in computer science, or related field, who is ready to contribute to a fast-paced environment and help us build better company cultures.

Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • 0+ years of professional experience in back-end web development
  • Experience in a general purpose programming language including but not limited to: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, or Python, with interest and ability to learn other programming languages
  • Experience working with data structures and algorithms
  • Legal authorization to work in the US and professional proficiency in verbal and written English

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to plan and implement software solutions that help drive business culture and success
  • Design and implement new software features and maintain existing ones to ensure reliability and performance
  • Participate in making team commitments and collaborating to deliver on them within an Agile framework
  • Adhere to company architectural standards and software development best practices
  • Write comprehensive unit and integration tests and participate in quality assurance efforts
  • Engage in peer code reviews, willingly incorporating team feedback and providing thoughtful feedback to others
  • Write code that is easy to understand and can be considered self-documenting, providing additional documentation when necessary
  • Involve technical leadership in the solution design process where appropriate to ensure scalability and quality
  • Keep up to date with new technologies and industry trends to continuously improve your skills
  • Help in the recruiting and hiring of engineering team members
