About The Position

The Back Door Attendant for the Retail Program is responsible for accepting donations from the public and ensuring that all donations meet Goodwill's standards. This role involves assisting in the unloading of donated items from donor vehicles, treating all customers with respect, and having the discretion to refuse donations that do not meet the organization's criteria. The attendant will also offer tax donation slips, store donations safely, maintain cleanliness around the donation area, and assist with loading and unloading the Goodwill truck. In winter, the attendant must ensure that access areas are clear of snow and ice.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Good work habits, including acceptable attitude and punctuality.
• Ability to respond appropriately to supervision.
• Adequate physical endurance to work at industrial standards.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Accept donations from the general public.
• Assist in the unloading of donated items from donor vehicles.
• Treat all customers with respect.
• Refuse any donation that does not meet Goodwill's standards.
• Inform customers about the local processing center for unacceptable items.
• Offer a tax donation slip after taking donations.
• Store donations in a safe and orderly manner.
• Pack loose donations into bags or boxes.
• Maintain cleanliness outside the building.
• Place donations left outside during off hours inside immediately.
• Assist in loading and unloading the Goodwill truck.
• Ensure access areas are clear of snow and ice during winter.
