OBJECTIVE: Under the direction of the program director manage the daily activities of a safe and quality child watch program in accordance the YMCA standards for children 8 and younger. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 16 years of age. Must be in high school Maintain current certifications in Adult, Infant/Child CPR and First Aid JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must attend all YMCA sponsored training Must understand and carry out written and verbal communication. Must be able to generate required written reports as needed. Must have the necessary sensitivity to relate well to children and parents. Must be in uniform at all times, including nametags and YMCA t-shirts. RESPONSIBILITIES: Include own ideas for crafts, games, etc. with Families Services guidelines. Build the YMCA Character Development Program into the programs, (Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility). Actively participate with given group of children. Treat children with warmth, dignity and respect. Maintain and clean program areas. To follow the BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN EXPOSURE control plan. Responsible for the orderly arrangement, appearance and safety of children. Establish and maintain good relations with school personnel and parents. Responsible for maintaining proper documentation on all accidents and incidents with staff, children and parents. Maintain professional attitudes and loyalty. Must believe in the YMCA Mission. EVALUATION: Will be an ongoing process and will provide an avenue for suggestions to be incorporated into the program, and will be written at least once a year.
