About The Position

Duties and Responsibilities General, daily maintenance of Baader machines including greasing of equipment, ball-bearing replacement and spot checking machinery Cleans and repairs factory equipment, as requested by Baader Technician or Factory Manager Assists in maintaining adequate and accurate inventory of necessary parts and supplies Regularly communicates with Baader Technicians regarding maintenance and or replacement of parts or machinery

Requirements

  • Able to follow directions and work independently without constant supervision
  • General mechanical knowledge and minimum two years working at-sea
  • General understanding of computerized numerical controls
  • Well organized and punctual
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug tests
  • Must be capable of boarding and exiting a vessel without physical assistance by climbing up and down a gang plank or using a Jacob’s ladder
  • Must climb or descend one or more set of steep stairs, or vertical ladders inside and outside the vessel in all weather conditions as extreme as 30 degrees below zero
  • Ability to lift repetitively for long periods of time
  • 12 hours or more per day for the duration of the trip, including loading and unloading
  • Ability to work at sea for extended periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and repairs factory equipment, as requested by Baader Technician or Factory Manager
  • Assists in maintaining adequate and accurate inventory of necessary parts and supplies
  • Regularly communicates with Baader Technicians regarding maintenance and or replacement of parts or machinery

Benefits

  • This position is paid at a base rate of $13.70 per hour.
  • In accordance with applicable wage and hour laws, employees will receive overtime pay at 1.5 times their regular hourly rate for all hours worked over 40 in a single workweek.
  • Crew are paid bi-weekly.
  • In addition to hourly wages, crew members who successfully complete their contract may be eligible for a Discretionary Crew Share Bonus at the end of each trip.
  • This bonus may be issued to employees who have completed their contract or are still actively working onboard at the end of the trip, provided that their calculated crew share earnings for the trip exceed the total hourly wages earned during that same period.
  • Eligibility and payout of the Crew Share Bonus are determined at the company’s discretion and may vary by trip.
