About The Position

The B Operator plays a crucial role in pipeline and terminal operations by assisting in product movements and ensuring proper gauging activities. This position is also responsible for training other operators in safe and efficient work practices, reporting to the A Operator and Shift Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• A minimum of 4 years in terminal operations is required.
• Leadership capabilities.
• Basic understanding of industrial operations and basic mathematical ability.
• Ability to read and comprehend Standard Operating Procedures, MSDS sheets, and other technical documents.
• Must be available for on-call as scheduled.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to obtain a TWIC card.

Responsibilities

• Perform gauging duties and complete all operational forms, signing inspectors' gauge tickets.
• Assist A-Operator in the field and with the completion of operational forms, obtaining hourly checks on all movements.
• Under A-Operator's supervision, line-up pipelines and pumps for product receipts and deliveries to and from storage tanks.
• Under A-Operator's supervision, line-up pipelines and pumps for loading/unloading vessels at docks.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain clean equipment and work areas.
• Conduct a survey of the terminal for leaks, pump seal failures, and other mechanical failures, reporting to the supervisor.
• Understand and implement emergency operating procedures, spill containment, and clean-up.
• Comply with all operation, spill response, and safety manuals.
• Line stripping, fill up from one to another; pigging.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
