Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, networking, and virtualization.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
  • Expertise in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, automation, and scripting (PowerShell, Terraform, or ARM templates).
  • Knowledge of security best practices, governance, and compliance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and operating AKS clusters in production environments
  • Proficiency in Terraform for multi-environment cloud provisioning and state management
  • Familiarity with Azure AI services and practical applications of generative AI, machine learning models, or intelligent automation
  • Experience implementing automation frameworks for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and incident remediation
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert – A key certification for Azure architects.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate – Often a prerequisite for higher-level Azure certifications.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate – Useful for architects focusing on security.
  • Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert – Beneficial for those working with automation and CI/CD pipelines.
  • HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate – Preferred for candidates managing Infrastructure as Code
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Azure Kubernetes Service specialty certification – Preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred but not required a Master’s degree in Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, or Business Administration (MBA with IT focus).

Responsibilities

  • Serves as subject matter expert in a complex array of full stack solutions
  • Performs research, analysis, design, creation, and implementation of systems to meet current and future requirements
  • Will be immersed in the elements of development, design, integration, operation, and support for platform services
  • Works collaboratively with engineering, application and enterprise/solution architects, developers, and PMs to develop and implement secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions
  • Brings operational efficiencies and cost reductions through cloud growth (while shutting down Cyrus One / other on-prem legacy systems) optimization of current Azure / Oracle cloud spend and will work with DevOps and Architecture for future development efforts.
  • Designs, deploys, and manages Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters to support containerized workloads and microservices architectures
  • Develops and maintains Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to enable consistent, repeatable, and version-controlled cloud deployments
  • Evaluates and implements AI/ML services including Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, and Azure Machine Learning to enhance business capabilities and drive innovation
  • Champions automation initiatives across the infrastructure lifecycle, reducing manual intervention and improving operational efficiency through scripting, orchestration, and self-healing systems
