About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Azure SCADA Cloud Engineer with 7-10 years of professional experience and expertise in managing Azure environments hosting an Aveva SCADA solution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both IT and OT (Operational Technology), with the ability to manage and optimize a cloud environment running a SCADA platform. As part of this role, you will work closely with our team to ensure the seamless operation, monitoring, and optimization of our Azure-hosted SCADA environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing Azure environments, specifically hosting SCADA solutions like Aveva SCADA.
• Strong IT/OT experience, with a deep understanding of both domains.
• Hands-on experience with Azure AD services (Entra).
• Proficiency in monitoring Azure assets (switches, firewalls, servers).
• Expertise in setting up logging mechanisms and creating dashboards.
• Knowledge of server performance monitoring and optimization.
• Experience with spinning up VMs and managing Azure networks.
• Familiarity with network design and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of backup and recovery processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Aveva SCADA integration and implementation.
• Knowledge of infrastructure resiliency testing and optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud-based SCADA solutions and their unique challenges.

Responsibilities

• Azure Environment Management: Manage and maintain Azure environments hosting the Aveva SCADA solution.
• Spin up new virtual machines (VMs) as needed in different Azure networks.
• Perform network design reviews and ensure optimal network communication.
• Azure AD Services (Entra): Configure and manage Azure Active Directory (Entra) services to support SCADA operations.
• Monitoring and Logging: Monitor Azure assets, including switches, firewalls, and servers.
• Set up appropriate logging mechanisms for system performance and security.
• Create and maintain dashboards for real-time monitoring and reporting.
• Performance Optimization: Help determine the optimal sizing of servers through performance monitoring and analysis.
• Test infrastructure resiliency and implement improvements as needed.
• Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and system availability.
• Network and Communication: Troubleshoot and resolve network communication-related issues.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless integration of network components.
• Application Integration: Work closely with the Aveva integrator to ensure smooth application integration and functionality.
