About the position

The Azure/Power Platform Solution Architect will be responsible for architecting and designing cloud-native solutions for the client Student Information System using Microsoft Azure and Power Platform. This role involves leading technical planning, design, integration, and security strategies to ensure compliance with client STIGs and cybersecurity best practices. The architect will develop governance models for Azure environments, Dataverse databases, and Power Apps, oversee data migration from legacy AMS systems to Azure Dataverse, and collaborate with project management, cybersecurity, and developer teams to implement scalable, secure solutions. Additionally, the architect will provide technical guidance on integration with external cloud systems and define best practices for architecture scalability, extensibility, performance, and disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and design cloud-native solutions for the client Student Information System using Microsoft Azure and Power Platform.
  • Lead technical planning, design, integration, and security strategies ensuring compliance with client STIGs and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Develop governance models for Azure environments, Dataverse databases, and Power Apps.
  • Oversee data migration from legacy AMS systems to Azure Dataverse, ensuring minimal disruption to mission operations.
  • Collaborate with project management, cybersecurity, and developer teams to implement scalable, secure solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance on integration with external cloud systems like Canvas LTI, Slate Admissions, and GAMS.
  • Define best practices for architecture scalability, extensibility, performance, and disaster recovery.

Requirements

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent certification.
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert.
  • 5+ years of experience architecting solutions in Azure environments and Power Platform ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of Dataverse, Power Apps (Canvas and Model-driven), and Power Automate.
  • Experience developing and enforcing platform governance, security controls, and architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with API integrations, web services (REST/JSON/XML), and data synchronization strategies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes within Power Platform.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps frameworks.
