About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Azure Data Engineer to support and enhance a mission‑critical data platform within a regulated financial services environment. This role is ideal for an engineer who has solid hands‑on experience with Azure data services and is eager to deepen their expertise in enterprise‑grade, audit‑ready data platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to build, operate, and maintain reliable data pipelines supporting financial reporting, fee and revenue processing, analytics, and decision‑making. A strong emphasis is placed on data quality, reconciliation, traceability, and operational stability.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles.
  • Practical experience with: Azure Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake fundamentals) Azure Data Factory (ADF) SQL for data transformation and analysis Python for data processing and automation
  • Experience building and supporting data pipelines in cloud environments.
  • Basic understanding of financial or transactional data and reconciliation concepts.
  • Exposure to regulated, audit‑sensitive, or enterprise environments is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and a willingness to learn from senior team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial services, wealth management, asset management, banking, or broker‑dealer environments.
  • Exposure to Power BI, semantic models, or enterprise reporting layers.
  • Familiarity with data governance concepts such as lineage, metadata, and access controls.
  • Experience or hands‑on exposure to Azure AI Foundry, including the development or consumption of AI models and services within governed enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with AI agents and agent‑based workflows, including orchestration of AI‑driven tasks, decision support, or analytics use cases with appropriate controls and auditability.
  • Interest or early experience with AI‑enabled analytics and generative AI capabilities (e.g., Databricks Genie, AI/BI features) applied responsibly within regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain production‑grade data pipelines on Azure using Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Develop and enhance ETL / ELT workflows using Python, SQL, and Spark, with a focus on correctness, performance, and maintainability.
  • Support ingestion of data from custodians, vendors, SFTP files, APIs, and internal source systems.
  • Apply Delta Lake features such as schema enforcement and versioning to ensure data accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Contribute to hands‑on development in Azure Databricks, including notebooks, workflows, and scheduled jobs.
  • Assist in performance tuning, job monitoring, and cost optimization efforts.
  • Gain exposure to Databricks Genie and AI‑assisted analytics for governed, business‑friendly insights while maintaining security and compliance standards.
  • Build and maintain ADF pipelines with proper dependency management, error handling, logging, and restartability.
  • Develop and support Power Platform / Azure Dataflows used for downstream analytics and reporting.
  • Integrate with Azure Data Lake Storage, Key Vault, Azure AD, Power BI, and related Azure services.
  • Implement data validation, reconciliation checks, and exception handling for financial and transactional datasets.
  • Support audit, regulatory, and compliance requirements through logging, lineage, and traceability.
  • Work closely with senior engineers and risk/compliance partners to ensure adherence to enterprise data standards.
  • Collaborate with finance, advisory, operations, and analytics teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Contribute to documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge sharing.
  • Learn and grow within a mature data platform, gaining exposure to enterprise architecture and modernization initiatives.
