About The Position

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and service (tire service, oil changes, transmission services) on school vehicles under the supervision of the Shop Foreman.
• Keep shop, equipment, and tools clean and in safe and efficient operating condition.
• Safe operation of center fuel island and wash rack to refuel and wash vehicles.
• Keep center fuel island and wash rack stocked and in proper working order.
• Assist vehicle technicians and mechanic helpers with the operation of all tools, and equipment repair as needed.
• Access and utilize printed/electronic service material, and follow manufacturer's established diagnostic and repair procedures.
• Maintain accurate updated records of time and materials required to perform repairs, service, and preventive maintenance assignments.
• Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
• Follow and promote safety in the shop by ensuring established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties (including lifting, climbing, etc.) are followed.
• Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
• Communicate and interact in a professional manner with co-workers, department personnel, and community members at all times.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
