As Student Accessibility Services (SAS) embarks on a very exciting academic year, we are seeking equity-minded, dependable, helpful, and engaging students to help us transition to and build culture in our new space at Rondileau Student Union. In this role, student employees will have the opportunity to actively advance a culture of accessibility, inclusivity, disability rights & advocacy throughout the Bridgewater State University community. This position is crucial in fostering an environment that welcomes all individuals and promotes the values of diversity and inclusion. The SAS Office Assistant will be responsible for welcoming people to the SAS offices and lounge area, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and clean environment for all visitors. This role involves answering general questions about SAS services and supports, assisting students in scheduling appointments, generating letters of accommodation, and initiating requests for support. Additionally, the assistant will contribute to the development of visual campaigns for print and social media, helping to raise awareness about accessibility and inclusivity initiatives on campus. The role may also include delivering items around campus and performing other administrative duties and special projects as assigned. Confidentiality is essential in this position, as students may not choose to disclose details of their involvement with our office to others. Therefore, the ideal candidate must be trustworthy and respectful of the privacy of others while actively engaging in the mission of the SAS office.
