Here’s what the opportunity supported through our TGS Talent Acquisition Team requires: The Cloud Architect position is a leadership role in the organization responsible for managing multiple consulting and delivery projects and teams/programs. The Sr Architect provides consulting and delivery assurance of services for clients through a range of internal and external functions. The Sr. Cloud Architect position is distinguished from Cloud Architect positions by the nature of the engagements or programs involved; deal sizes range from transactional solutions of $2-5M. As a Sr. Cloud Architect the architect is expected to have the experience and background to perform all the duties described below for engagements that are focused on consulting/delivery management within the defined subject matter area, including resource management, deliverables development, project planning and executions, adherence to contract attributes and costing, customer interaction, and other key aspects of solution-based managed services. For a Sr Cloud Architect, these engagements will typically be delivered to North American customers or at the customer's location, usually in North America. They are expected to have adequate skills for complex deliverable-based, fully outsourced, or extremely large-scale engagements or programs, and to lead the delivery effort for a larger cross-functional project/program. This role may require up to 25% travel. The ideal candidate will bring their deep expertise in Cloud Services, primarily on AWS, Microservices, and Serverless architectures, Cloud Native Development, CI/CD and DevOps, presales, delivery, and operational excellence. They will provide expert-level support for strategic ongoing and new TGS client initiatives. They will work with our other key partners to assist in developing robust cloud offerings and to deliver holistic solutions across the key focus areas of TGS Enterprise Modernization's strategic objectives.

Requirements

A bachelor's in Computer Science or other engineering or technical discipline is required
9+ years' experience in information technology and/or professional services, with emphasis on subject matter expertise
At least 5 years of experience as a Cloud Architect or equivalent role
At least 5 years of AWS services experience is required.
At least 3 years of cloud migration experience is required
At least 3 years of Microservices and Serverless experience is required
Demonstrated leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational excellence and best practices
Develop innovative solutions to complex business and technology problems
Strong track record of delivering projects of demonstrable complexity & scale
Hands-on knowledge of AWS AI/ML and GenAI services, including SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore (agentic architectures, runtimes, gateways, tool/use-case orchestration), Amazon Q (including Amazon Q Business, Amazon Q in QuickSight, and Amazon Q in Connect), and the Strands SDK for building and operating agentic systems
· Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and govern modern agentic architectures on AWS (multi-agent patterns, tool/function calling, orchestration, evaluation/observability, and secure runtime isolation) using Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and related services
· Hands-on experience building agent workflows and integrations with the Strands SDK, including tool definitions, agent routing/orchestration, and deployment/operations patterns
Hands-on knowledge of AWS Data services, including S3/Athena, Lake Formation, Glue, RedShift, or EMR
Hands-on knowledge in various AWS services like ECS, EKS, Lambda, Event Bridge, S3, DynamoDB, System Manager, API Gateway, ACM, Route53, Cloud Watch
Experience with enterprise AWS services, including Organizations, Control Tower, Transit Gateways, and Direct Connect
Experience with strategizing and solution migration of legacy enterprise app (Lift & Shift/ Code Refactoring)
Ability to lead adoption and mentor team members on modern DevOps and architectural concepts
Experience with source code and software collaboration technologies (e.g. GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, Artifactory)
Experience configuring and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, CodePipeline)
Strong infrastructure as code experience, preferably in Terraform
Strong Knowledge in container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud native frameworks
Strong hands-on scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
Some knowledge of one application programming language like C#, Java, or JavaScript (Node)
Knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing, and firewalling
Strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment
Ability to travel to client locations to deliver professional services, as needed
Remotely work with team members across a range of time zones and regions.
Able to present designs to a varied audience across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to identify and address potential design or architecture issues, and work with uncertainty
Willing to lead discussion and challenge technical and design decisions where standards or best practices are not met
Implement central architecture standards, using JIRA, Confluence, etc., raising and tracking architecture tasks, dependencies, and risks for 2-3 in-flight projects they are assigned to
Sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on communicating technical requirements and solutions to internal and external audiences.
Professional-level AWS certification is mandatory
Candidate must have 1-2 Associate-Level Certifications in AWS Cloud

Responsibilities

Delivery Support: For new engagements, drive the transition phase as well as the setup of the engagement operating model, help define metrics, and support the delivery of defined statements of work.
Engagement Leadership: Create the technical architecture for complex cloud systems, and lead the implementation team. Perform hands-on implementation tasks and delegate other tasks to the rest of the implementation team. Guide the creation and delivery of project deliverables, ensuring they meet client requirements and adhere to client requirements. Ensure the implementation team maintains a shared vision of the engagement goals.
Client Interaction: Throughout the engagement, maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and addressing any issues that arise. Help surface opportunities for further client engagement.
Pre-Sales Support: Support Solution Architects and Solution Executives with technical opinions, methodology recommendations, work estimates, and solution support.
Practice Support: As needed, provide input, expertise, and implement changes into the design, development, and improvement of service offerings and back-office procedures; assist in the research and development of new offerings and analyze competing offerings to ensure practice is current and competitive within the market; create and maintain practice artifacts that document key methods, processes, and delivery tools.
Human Resources: Assist with interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of project team members during the initial engagement phase.
