About The Position

BridgePhase is seeking an AWS Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join our team supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The ideal candidate will provide expert-level support for AWS cloud infrastructure and DevSecOps platform operations, ensuring system reliability, security, and optimal performance in a production environment. This is a remote position. As with any technical environment, the exact role responsibilities will evolve with the changing needs of our client. Requirements

  • At least 8 years of total professional experience supporting infrastructure operations, cloud engineering, or DevOps environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Strong experience with AWS core services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, ELB, Route53, and CloudFront
  • Experience with AWS security services including IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, and GuardDuty
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Experience with container platforms such as Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline
  • Strong Linux/Unix system administration skills
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or New Relic
  • Familiarity with networking concepts including VPC, subnets, routing, DNS, and VPN
  • Understanding of federal security compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash
  • Public trust clearance will be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing or recent DHS clearance is a major plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support AWS cloud infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and logging for mission-critical systems
  • Provide Tier 3 support for infrastructure-related incidents and service requests
  • Troubleshoot issues related to compute, storage, networking, and security services
  • Investigate and diagnose performance bottlenecks and resource constraints
  • Support CI/CD pipeline infrastructure and resolve platform-level deployment failures
  • Perform root cause analysis for infrastructure incidents and implement preventive measures
  • Manage infrastructure configuration updates through Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Coordinate incident response activities with development, security, and operations teams
  • Support infrastructure maintenance including patching, scaling, and backup verification
  • Monitor security events and respond to potential threats or vulnerabilities
  • Optimize AWS resource utilization and support cloud cost management initiatives
  • Maintain documentation of infrastructure configurations and operational procedures
  • Support disaster recovery testing and business continuity planning
  • Ensure infrastructure environments comply with federal security requirements and audit controls
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps teams on automation and tooling improvements
  • Interface with AWS support and third-party vendors for escalated infrastructure issues
