You are a highly skilled AWS DevOps Engineer who thrives in cloud-first, automation-driven environments. You are passionate about building scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD best practices. You bring a strong understanding of AWS services, automation frameworks, and security principles, and you enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline deployments and improve operational performance. You are detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to delivering resilient cloud solutions that directly support federal mission success. We are seeking an AWS DevOps Engineer who will play a pivotal role in enhancing our cloud infrastructure and advancing the missions of our federal partners. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, automating, and maintaining secure AWS environments that support scalable federal solutions. By stepping into this role, you will directly contribute to the reliability, security, and scalability of mission-critical federal systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of AWS DevOps experience
  • Strong proficiency in AWS CloudFormation and template development
  • Experience with GitHub or GitLab CI/CD processes
  • Python 3 development experience
  • AWS Lambda implementation experience
  • AWS IAM roles, policies, and security best practices
  • Experience using VSCode and YAML linters

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to AWS Glue, Glue Catalog, and data lake architectures
  • Experience integrating Microsoft Entra ID or other third-party identity management solutions
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and implement forward-thinking automation strategies.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Commitment to Mission: Experience supporting federal environments and understanding compliance, security, and operational standards within government systems.

Responsibilities

  • CI/CD Pipeline Development: Design, implement, and maintain GitHub/GitLab CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Infrastructure as Code Leadership: Develop and manage AWS CloudFormation templates to provision and maintain infrastructure in a repeatable, secure, and scalable manner.
  • Cloud Automation & Serverless Solutions: Build and maintain AWS Lambda functions and other serverless services using Python 3 to support automation and application workflows.
  • Security & Identity Management: Configure and manage AWS IAM roles, policies, and security controls to ensure compliance with federal security requirements.
  • Cloud Governance & Optimization: Implement best practices for cloud cost management, monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.
  • Optional Data & Identity Integrations: Support data lake initiatives leveraging AWS Glue/Glue Catalog and integrate identity solutions such as Microsoft Entra ID or other third-party identity management platforms when required.
