About The Position

LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech Company, is seeking a AWS Cloud System Administratorto serve as a mid-level system administration and cloud engineering support for FAA AWS cloud environments. The candidate shall assist in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of systems and services within AWS, supporting FAA mission applications and enterprise infrastructure in accordance with FAA and federal security standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6-10 years of relevant systems engineering or administration experience, including 5+ years managing AWS cloud environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with AWS core services (EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch).
  • Proficiency with Linux/Windows system administration and shell scripting.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible).
  • Familiarity with networking, DNS, load balancing, and system security best practices.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex enterprise environments.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional certification (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting federal cloud systems within the FAA or similar agencies.
  • Knowledge of FAA cloud security and compliance standards (ATO, FISMA, FedRAMP).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, CodePipeline) and DevOps workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Support the provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of AWS cloud infrastructure components including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and VPC
  • Perform Linux and Windows system administration tasks including patching, user management, and monitoring.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts using AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other monitoring utilities.
  • Support cloud backup, recovery, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system availability, performance, and configuration.
  • Implement and maintain security controls consistent with FAA cybersecurity and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in CI/CD pipeline operations and automated system deployment activities.
  • Maintain accurate and current system documentation, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and FAA stakeholders to ensure reliable and secure operation of cloud-hosted systems.
