About The Position

This AWS Cloud Solutions Architect role focuses on the Enterprise Technology Exchange (ETX), which is a critical dependency for Load Sharing Facility (LSF) and requires a site-to-site VPN to be operational. The dependency chain is clearly defined as VPN → ETX → LSF. The position involves ensuring the necessary resource requirements are met, including VPN gateways or AWS Site-to-Site VPN connections in relevant regions, sufficient VPN bandwidth for ETX communication, and correctly configured Network ACLs and security groups to allow ETX traffic flows. The role also entails configuring ETX services over the VPN tunnel, which LSF then leverages for job scheduling and resource management. Core skillsets for this professional services role include cloud network architecture, enterprise integration/middleware, HPC/batch computing, security & compliance, and infrastructure automation.

Requirements

• Expertise in Cloud Network Architecture, including AWS Site-to-Site VPN, VPC peering, Transit Gateway, routing tables, and firewall/NACL rules.
• Experience with Enterprise Integration / Middleware, specifically ETX installation, configuration, and integration over VPN tunnels, and ensuring reliable message exchange.
• Knowledge of HPC / Batch Computing, including IBM Spectrum LSF deployment, cluster configuration, job scheduling policies, and integration with ETX.
• Proficiency in Security & Compliance, covering IAM policies, encryption in transit (IPSec), network segmentation, and audit logging across VPN and ETX layers.
• Skills in Infrastructure Automation (IaC) using CloudFormation / Terraform for networking provisioning.
• Understanding of the dependency chain: VPN → ETX → LSF.
• Ability to configure VPN gateway or AWS Site-to-Site VPN connections.
• Ability to ensure sufficient bandwidth on the VPN for ETX communication overhead.
• Ability to configure Network ACLs and security groups to permit ETX traffic flows.
• Ability to configure ETX services over the VPN tunnel.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AWS Site-to-Site VPN, VPC peering, Transit Gateway, routing tables, and firewall/NACL rules.
• Install, configure, and integrate ETX over VPN tunnels, ensuring reliable message exchange between on-premises and cloud environments.
• Deploy and configure IBM Spectrum LSF, including cluster configuration, job scheduling policies, and integration with ETX for workload orchestration.
• Implement and manage IAM policies, encryption in transit (IPSec), network segmentation, and audit logging across VPN and ETX layers.
• Utilize CloudFormation / Terraform for repeatable VPN and networking provisioning across multi-region deployments.
