About The Position

Role Summary: The AWS Engineer will join our established enterprise public cloud team, supporting the deployment, management, and security of cloud-native workloads on Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will work in an environment that leverages core AWS services to enable a secure, resilient, and scalable cloud environment. This role requires individuals to be self-motivated and able to work effectively without constant supervision. Key Responsibilities: Support the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of AWS resources for enterprise workloads, collaborating with senior engineers. Assist in the operation and integration of AWS services including Identity Center, Security Hub, Resilience Hub, and related platforms to enhance security, resilience, and compliance. Participate in monitoring, logging, and reporting activities to ensure the health, performance, and security of cloud-native applications. Help implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for automated resource provisioning and configurations using Terraform. Assist with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident response in the AWS environment, escalating issues as needed. Learn and follow best practices for identity and access management, cloud security, backup, resilience, and AWS resource management. Contribute to technical documentation and standard operating procedures for cloud-based operations. Engage in team knowledge sharing, training sessions, and ongoing skills development. Take ownership of assigned tasks, demonstrating initiative and the ability to work independently to meet goals and deadlines. Proactively seek opportunities to improve cloud infrastructure, processes, and team workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (internships or academic projects using AWS are a plus).
  • Familiarity with AWS core services (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, IAM) and a strong willingness to learn advanced areas such as Security Hub, Resilience Hub, and AI
  • Basic understanding of cloud security principles, identity and access management, and resilience in cloud environments.
  • Exposure to or interest in automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell), as well as infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Analytical approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Eagerness to learn from experienced engineers and adapt to evolving cloud technologies.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks, demonstrating initiative and the ability to work independently to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve cloud infrastructure, processes, and team workflows.
  • Self-motivation and the proven ability to complete tasks and solve problems without direct supervision.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience (coursework or internship) with AWS services related to identity, security, or resilience.
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or equivalent AWS certification (optional but desirable).
  • Exposure to enterprise cloud monitoring, logging, or automation tools
  • Previous Labcorp experience prefered
