About The Position

CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for an AWS Cloud Architect within our Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. You must have a passion for keeping pace with rapidly evolving technology advancements and leveraging your knowledge on a highly collaborative team to deliver state-of-the-art capabilities. The AWS Cloud Architect designs, builds, and manages cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS). They are responsible for translating business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring those solutions are scalable, secure, and cost-effective. This includes designing system architectures, selecting appropriate AWS services, and providing guidance on best practices. CGI Federal is growing its high-performance team whose members share a passion for building high-quality, scalable, advanced IT solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced, outcome-driven mission. This position is located in our Arlington, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. Must live within a 50-mile radius of NCR/DMV

Requirements

  • Education and/or Experience: Senior Level: Bachelor's degree and/or 5 to 8 years of experience Expert Level: Bachelor's degree and/or 10+ years of experience
  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Poly
  • Strong AWS Expertise: Deep understanding of AWS services, particularly compute, storage, networking, database, and security services.
  • Cloud Architecture Principles: Knowledge of cloud design patterns, best practices, and architectural frameworks.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with tools like CloudFormation or Terraform for automating infrastructure deployments.
  • Programming and Scripting: Proficiency in languages like Python, Node.js, or Shell scripting for automation and development.
  • Security Best Practices: Understanding of AWS security services and best practices for securing cloud environments.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Cloud Architecture Design: Developing and maintaining architectural blueprints for AWS-based solutions, including infrastructure, applications, and data management systems.
  • Solution Implementation: Building and deploying cloud solutions using various AWS services, often leveraging automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Performance Optimization: Ensuring solutions are optimized for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Security and Compliance: Implementing security best practices and ensuring solutions comply with relevant industry and organizational security standards.
  • Cost Management: Monitoring and managing AWS costs, identifying opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
  • Technical Leadership: Providing guidance and mentorship to development and engineering teams on AWS-related topics.
  • Documentation: Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, processes, and procedures.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Assisting in troubleshooting complex issues related to AWS infrastructure and applications.
