About The Position

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Sr. Cloud Administrator to support the a critical geospatial intelligence program in Springfield, VA. The team is seeking a skilled system administrator and cloud support professional to support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of enterprise cloud solutions for a Data Lake Modernization mission. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree plus 5 years' experience
  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • Certifications: AWS or Azure cloud certifications highly preferred, IAT II
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the AWS C2S Suite and tools.
  • Troubleshooting and providing AWS technical support to NGA employees.
  • Creating SNS Topics
  • Connecting to ec2 instances using an SSH client on MobaX or Putty to check for logs.
  • Creating IAM users/roles/policies per user requests.
  • Granting access to s3 buckets by updating bucket policies using Json.
  • Monitoring Data conditioning and dissemination with Kibana Elastic & Cloud Watch (AWS).
  • Expertise experience in container platform infrastructure in AWS (EKS, ECS)
  • Clear understanding of container technologies and the tools/challenges around them.
  • Ability to code/script in Python
  • Senior level experience managing and administering Linux/Windows based systems.
  • Extensive AWS Cloud Formation knowledge (YAML and/or JSON) .
  • Systems monitoring experience (Elasticsearch preferred).
  • Experience working with GitLab and supporting CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to applications, operating systems, hardware, communications, and other infrastructure components, individually or in combination.
  • Document and escalate technical issues to appropriate stakeholders such as Amazon/C2S, NGA-ESC, and other relevant leads.
  • Support the escalation process and ensure timely communication of system status to agency leadership and internal users.
  • Install and configure operating systems and application software as needed.
  • Identify and resolve hardware and software issues across the full technology stack, including applications, OS, hardware, and network infrastructure.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot network components, and implement system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Integrate emerging technologies into existing systems, including planning and executing system transitions and migrations.
  • Monitor system health and performance using tools such as Elasticsearch Kibana, AWS CloudWatch, and other dashboarding platforms.
