About The Position

At our ministry, we are passionate about forming lasting faith in every child, everywhere! As the Awana GO Program Coordinator, you will play an important role in strengthening and expanding Awana GO by developing discipleship resources and initiatives that equip local church leaders to inspire a heart of generosity and global mission in children. In this role, you will collaborate with team members across the ministry to ensure Awana GO programs—such as Kids Reaching Kids and Verse-a-Thon—are simple, sustainable, and effective in helping churches engage kids in biblical education, intentional discipleship, and hands-on opportunities to understand and support God’s mission around the world. Through these efforts, thousands of children are empowered not only to learn about the Gospel, but to actively participate in sharing it globally. You’ll thrive in this role if you can successfully combine program coordination, resource development, and cross-functional collaboration while having a heart for mission work that directly impacts the lives of children and youth worldwide. We’re seeking someone who views program and resource development not just as a series of tasks, but as vital ministry work with eternal value. This part-time position will average approximately 20 hours per week and is primarily remote, with occasional travel required based on strategic organizational meetings. Primary travel locations would be our offices in St. Charles, IL or Nashville, TN. Other domestic U.S. travel may be required on occasion as ministry needs indicate. Hiring Range for this hourly position is:  $21.00 - $22.50 per hour

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years related experience serving a Christian children’s ministry through any combination of curriculum/content writing, campaign creation/implementation, managing social media content and digital communications preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) desired with a concentration in Christian ministry, education or similar from an accredited college or university desired but not required.
  • Intermediate Google Suite skills, with emphasis on Google Sheets, digital collaboration tools and database entry/reporting preferred; Salesforce experience a plus..
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating social media content and digital communications preferred.
  • Occasional local and out-of-town, overnight travel may be required.
  • General understanding of the Bible and the various types of evangelical Christian churches in the United States is required.
  • Valid State driver’s license required.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States is required; this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
  • Must be a born-again Christian.
  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
  • Must be in agreement with the Awana Doctrinal Statement.
  • Must be in fellowship with the body of Christ through a local church.
  • Regularly engages in reading the Holy Bible as a guide and standard for living.

  • Experience with Awana clubs and/or church-based discipleship programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Write and develop new Awana GO content, including lessons, discipleship materials, campaign guides, and promotional resources for initiatives such as Kids Reaching Kids, Verse-a-Thon, and Missions Month.
  • Refresh and update existing materials to ensure biblical accuracy and consistent brand voice across print, digital, and video formats.
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders and designers to create cohesive campaign kits that are simple to use and engaging for kids, families, and church leaders.
  • Draft communication tools and leader resources (scripts, outlines, handouts, web copy, and training materials) that help churches effectively implement Awana GO programs.
  • Ensure GO resources remain current and accessible by organizing and updating materials on internal platforms.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for churches and ministry leaders.
  • Assist churches in planning and executing local GO events and fundraisers.
  • Gather stories, feedback, and best practices from participating churches to share with the broader Awana network.
  • Help develop leader trainings, Lunch & Learn events, and webinars.
  • Manage the Awana GO Facebook page and social media schedule (e.g., Meet a Missionary Monday, Testimony Tuesday, What’s Working Wednesday).
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to write email updates, newsletters, and web content promoting GO initiatives.
  • Assist with content creation for videos, missionary spotlights, and digital promotions.
  • Track and report participation, engagement, and fundraising metrics.
  • Provide quarterly reports summarizing trends, success stories, and growth opportunities.
  • Work with the Donor Team to coordinate best practices, data insights, and communication pathways that support overall ministry alignment.
