The Awake Overnight Crisis Clinician provides direct services to clients and families in crisis. These services include assessment of level of care needs, psychosocial evaluations, family-based mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and collaboration with natural support and community partners. The Clinician works as part of a multidisciplinary team comprised of nurses, psychiatrists, and counselors and provides services on site. Monterey County Crisis Programs Seneca's Monterey County Crisis Programs provide crisis stabilization services and short-term residential treatment for children and youth experiencing crises, ensuring timely support when it's most needed. This innovative way of addressing a mental health emergency provides a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for children and youth. Upon enrollment in the programs, the Seneca teams work with the youth and support networks to assess the needs and strengths of the youth in order to develop the foundation goals that will drive treatment. Comprehensive services include timely mental health assessments, crisis counseling, and linkage to long-term, sustainable support based on each client's unique strengths and needs. The ultimate goal is to provide mental health/crisis services, suicide prevention, decrease in placement changes and reduction of unnecessary psychiatric hospitalization.
