About The Position

Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC), a division of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, is recruiting for an AVTEC Instructor who will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering instruction in the Diesel and Applied Technology programs as a Diesel Instructor. Duties will include learning, maintaining and developing program curriculum; designing, building, and maintaining the practical industry-based labs and shop areas; facilitating program advisory board meetings; and maintaining student training records. The Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC) trains Alaskans for work in the trades. The nature of the calendar year at AVTEC provides opportunity to travel to remote locations to bring training to Alaskans. Requirements

Four years of journey-level trade experience in the applicable field.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in the applicable field; AND Two years of journey-level trade experience in the applicable field; AND Two years professional experience developing, coordinating, and presenting adult training or vocational education programs.
An industry recognized professional certification in the applicable field; AND Two years of journey-level trade experience in the applicable field; AND Two years professional experience developing, coordinating, and presenting adult training or vocational education programs.
Applicants must possess a valid driver's license.
Applicants must meet Alaska Residency Requirements in order to be considered for employment at this time.
