About The Position

At Vantage, the AVP, Underwriting - Financial Institutions is a member of our Financial Institutions team. This role is responsible for underwriting new and renewal Financial Institutions business according to assigned authority level and established guidelines. This position provides a unique opportunity to be part of a team building a profitable book of business within a successful and growing organization. This role reports to SVP of Financial Institutions and is a hybrid opportunity based in Vantage’s New York City (midtown) office. The base salary expectation for this role is between $140,000 and $200,000. The actual base salary for the position may be higher, commensurate with the candidate's experience. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline required.
6-10 years of Financial Institutions Underwriting experience preferred.
Established network of broker relationships and strong reputation within the Financial Institutions network.
Deep Financial Institutions underwriting and product acuity.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to process and adapt to change in a rapid growth and data-driven environment.
Willingness to travel (up to 25%).

Responsibilities

Review submissions to ensure alignment with risk appetite and business strategy.
Generate new business by working with brokers and clients to develop innovative ways to deploy Financial Institutions products.
Effectively market to our brokers nationwide, leveraging and cultivating new and existing relationships.
Analyze complex risks and unusual transaction structures thoroughly and effectively.
Perform underwriting activities associated with managing all underwriting transactions, service standards, compliance rules, and documentation.
Demonstrate a customer service mindset by proactively engaging internal and external contacts.
Collaborate and correspond with internal and external contacts to achieve a high level of service and meet client expectations.
Interact directly with various business partners and internal departments.
Meet departmental service standards in place for each process.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned under minimal supervision.
