About The Position
The AVP Underwriter Surety will be responsible for handling results-oriented underwriting by assisting the Head of North America Surety in developing and monitoring a technically sound and profitable portfolio. The role involves providing a market presence to continue to build the PartnerRe brand with key clients and brokers, supporting and fostering a culture of agility, high performance, client centricity, and solution-oriented decision making. The AVP Underwriter will represent PartnerRe at market events, client visits, underwriting file reviews, and workshops, as assigned. Compliance with underwriting and pricing guidelines, operations, and procedures is essential. The position also includes supporting portfolio management and exposure/risk accumulation monitoring according to corporate guidelines, effectively collaborating with key stakeholders within the organization including the actuarial, claims, and wording departments, and handling underwriting administrative tasks such as special acceptances analysis and recommendation, review of contractual documents and endorsement requests, data input, and maintaining data quality of the portfolio. Accurate and timely data entry into internal systems in conjunction with the UW operations team is required, along with analysis and monitoring of market trends, economic and legal developments to assess impacts to PartnerRe.
