The AVP, Application Hosting and Database Platforms reports to the VP, Technology Infrastructure & Computing and owns the strategy, engineering, operations, financials, and talent for the hosting platforms that power business‑critical applications and data services. Scope includes traditional and cloud‑based web hosting, Kubernetes platforms, and relational/non‑relational databases used for core transaction processing and analytics. The AVP ensures these platforms are secure, resilient, cost‑effective, and easy for product and application teams to consume, partnering with architecture, cybersecurity, finance, data/AI, and business leaders to align capabilities with enterprise strategy and regulatory expectations. As an AVP, Technology Engineer you’ll lead all systems engineering activities for multiple systems, platforms and engineering/operational support processes. Provides strategic direction and executive oversight to enterprise business units. Approve systems engineering policies, engineering support policies, standards, and procedures. Interfaces with other Technology Community to ensure cross-integration of strategic plans.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate studies in MIS, CIS, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years in Technology development or operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in multiple process disciplines such as finance or business processes, IT Service Management processes, application development processes, and/or Technology operations processes required.
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of project management concepts and techniques.
  • Must be fully competent in process development or process operations.
  • Must have strong leadership skills with the ability to work with technical and business teams including virtual teams.
  • Must have the ability to make decisions and recommendations on strategies while considering various options to business units and senior management.
  • Must have outstanding verbal and written communications skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree preferred.
  • Experience managing large process teams preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the development and integration of strategic and tactical hardware, software, processes and support structures to meet business goals and objectives within service level agreements (SLA’s) to ensure operations excellence and delivery of daily service.
  • Provides strategic leadership by driving innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitates strategic and tactical planning and policy decision for business unit by providing guidance for the integration of technological and business processes.
  • Provides leadership to direct and indirect reports.
  • Oversees the management of associates including career development, performance management, and pay determination and communication.
  • Is accountable for all financial activities required to operate the environment (budgeting, forecasting, capital spend projections, etc.)
  • ls accountable for operational vendor management and building strong relationships with strategic vendors.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
